Foz do Arelho is 8 km northwest of Caldas da Rainha, limited by the Atlantic ocean in the north, and the Óbidos lagoon watershed in the south. Foz do Arelho park is located at the west tourism region, blessed by the nature with splendid and iodine-rich beaches with thin and golden sand. The park has commercial services, swimming pool and lodgings for holidays and weekends.

Without forgetting its varied gastronomy, with fine dishes after the traditional pig slaughter, roasted kid (young goat), rabbit stew with rice, the famous fish stew, eel stew (caldeirada) and Lagoon clams (grooved carpet shell), going through sweets and desserts of Convent origin, egg Lamprey, cavacas from Caldas, small bean tart, pães-de-Ló (sponge cake), apples and Rocha pears.
The West is also one of the major wine regions worldwide. Full-bodied red wines from the following grape varieties Camarate, Periquita and Tinta Miúda and fruit-flavoured white wines from the following grape varieties Arinto, Fernão Pires and Vital.
