Description

Foz do Arelho is 8 km northwest of Caldas da Rainha, limited by the Atlantic ocean in the north, and the Óbidos lagoon watershed in the south. Foz do Arelho park is located at the west tourism region, blessed by the nature with splendid and iodine-rich beaches with thin and golden sand. The park has commercial services, swimming pool and lodgings for holidays and weekends.

This region is full of attractions:

historical heritage - thermal hospital, churches and hermitages, museums, pottery;



beautiful landscapes - Foz do Arelho and Salir do Porto beaches;

sports at the Óbidos lagoon, the largest and most charming coastal lagoon in the country;

walks at the Paúl de Tornada, at the natural reserve of the Berlenga island, the only maritime reserve in the country, at the Socorro mountain or at the Montejunto Mountain Park.

The West is also one of the major wine regions worldwide. Full-bodied red wines from the following grape varieties Camarate, Periquita and Tinta Miúda and fruit-flavoured white wines from the following grape varieties Arinto, Fernão Pires and Vital.
