It consists of 11 stages with a total distance of 252 kilometers. It is the path that goes from Oviedo to Santiago de Compostela, joining the French Route in Palas de Rei. It is said that the road was used in the early ninth century by King Alfonso II, to visit the tomb of St. James, recently discovered during his tenure. The route is fairly hilly terrain, although more is better signposted.
