Used by the Portuguese pilgrims going to Santiago through the routes that run inside the country joining the Spanish roads. There are historical routes that start from the Algarve, south of Portugal and from Lisbon and Coimbra can be directed towards 2 variants.
Although it has multiple paths in their pilgrimage to Santiago, The three major axes are:
The Portuguese Way of the interior part of Oporto reaching Ourense, where it joins the section of the Via de la Plata to Santiago.
The Portuguese Way of the North, as also from the previous port, next to the Sanctuary of "Nossa Senhora do Norte" in Barcelos you deviate from the route inland to join in Redondela.
The Portuguese Camino de la Costa, as the name suggests, runs along the coast starting from Oporto, crossing the mouth of the river in Spain and reaches Redondela where it joins the delinterior way.
The signage is complete from Porto to Santiago and from Barcelos to Redondela.
The marked routes here are indicative and are intended for campers because they are traveling by car and calculate considering the quickest route by road. If the road is going to do on foot or by bike, surely not the best route for it should follow the directions of the road marking or other means or specific maps to make way.
